Sheryl was born in upstate New York and raised by loving parents. She attended the University of Vermont where Sheryl studied political science and speech. While at UVM, Sheryl founded and captained the University’s Equestrian Team, which has since earned National Honors. After completing her undergraduate degree, Sheryl followed her passion to South Florida to professionally ride and train horses, before attending law school. Working her way through law school, Sheryl pursued working with families and children though the 17th Judicial Circuit Guardian ad Litem Program. During this time, Sheryl also continued her equestrian show jumping career as she consistently earned top ribbons at the Winter Equestrian Festival in Wellington, Florida.
Following her graduation from law school, Sheryl continued working for families as an associate and partner of small boutique law firms. She became board certified in 2009, which prompted her to open her own law practice. Thereafter, in 2011, she was asked to Chair the marital and family law department of a large, state-wide law firm while, as a shareholder, she had the pleasure of continuing to work for influential families and executives. Thereafter, she and her partner proudly opened Moore Rabinowitz Law.
Based upon personal experience, Sheryl is an avid fundraiser and supporter for cancer awareness and research including participating in 100-mile charity rides, such as the Miami Dolphins Cancer Challenge. She also enjoys running at charity events and training for triathlons. Most importantly, Sheryl fulfilled her lifelong dream of being a mother when she adopted her joyful and loving son whom she adores beyond measure.
